Seneca is an AI tool that writes work instructions and SOPs from a video of the job, turns them into interactive training, and gives operators a step by step reference on the shop floor and in the field.

Beyond maintains over a hundred work instructions, many of them 200 to 300 pages, with an estimated four years of writing in the backlog. Seneca can help with this.

1A written work instruction

Purpose and scope, PPE, components, tools, then every step with its description, clipped video, annotated stills, step guidance, and hazards and controls.

2Interactive training

AI led questioning on the job around a 3D model of the equipment, with knowledge checks and a competency sign off.

3A reference on the job

The same instruction on a phone or tablet, worked through one step at a time. Photo and answer checks built into a step are reviewed on the spot.

1 Built from Beyond's own video

Input: the Element Fastener Wiring video. Output: the Install Safety Cable on Flange Fasteners work instruction, with every step, clipped footage, annotated images, and hazards and controls. Processing time: about 40 minutes.

Existing manuals as input

Work instructions, operations and maintenance manuals and slide decks upload directly and come back in the same structured form, with images placed against their steps.

Beyond's template and terminology

Every step name, description, image, part number and hazard is editable. Export is a PDF in Beyond's own template, ready for SharePoint or Site Docs.

Revision control

Draft, in review, complete. Reviewers are assigned and notified by email, each approval creates a new version, and history is kept.

2 Training and competency

Every work instruction in Seneca is also a training course.

  • Interactive training. The trainee is questioned step by step and must answer to progress, with the instruction and a 3D model of the equipment alongside.
  • Knowledge checks and sign off. A step can require a correct answer, a photo or a video before the next one opens. The completed job is signed off, giving the competency programme dated evidence per person.
  • Engineering training from slides. Technical topics such as RCD operation go in as a presentation and come out as the same interactive training.

  • One source feeds the manual, the training and the competency record
  • An update is made once and every format follows
  • Staff learn from video and the voice of the person who does the job
3 Integration
Initial plan, during the pilot

The technical writing team creates and maintains work instructions in Seneca. Accounts are limited to that team, with sign in by one time code to a company email address. Finished documents are exported as PDFs in Beyond's template and filed in SharePoint and Site Docs as they are today.

Next step, under a full contract

Should Beyond move to the annual contract, integration follows. Single sign on through Entra, so accounts follow Beyond's user provisioning. Field and shop staff then open work instructions, training and step checks in the Seneca app. Work instructions and training records sync to Site Docs and the training platform through their integration paths.

4 Pricing

All figures in US dollars. Priced per organisation. No per user fee. No limit on work instructions, trainings or reprocessing.

  • Success criteria agreed first. Objectives, the list of jobs to capture and the pilot agenda are set before the start.
  • Week one on site. A Seneca founder spends the first week in Calgary with the technical writing team, capturing the first jobs and setting up templates and workflow.
  • Full access for the pilot. Every feature on this page, with no cap on the number of work instructions or trainings.
  • Outputs are Beyond's to keep. Every work instruction built during the pilot is exported and retained, whatever the decision afterwards.
Step two

Annual subscription

Per year, for the organisation
  • Billing. Monthly, every six months or annually.
  • Unlimited use. Work instructions, manuals, trainings, exports and storage.
  • Ongoing development. Features built around Beyond's workflow, plus the Site Docs integration and SSO work as required.
  • Data terms. Beyond's data remains Beyond's IP, is isolated from other customers, and is never used to train AI models. These terms are set out in the Seneca MSA.

The annual contract begins only on Beyond's decision after the pilot. There is no commitment beyond the pilot.
